Message Notes

Will It Survive the Fire?

Building a Life That Heaven Rewards

Message Description

Every one of us is building something with our lives—a family, a career, a business, a ministry, or a legacy. The question is not whether we are building, but what we are building and why we are building it.

In this message, we explore what Scripture teaches about stewardship, eternal rewards, and the Judgment Seat of Christ. Through the stories of the Rich Young Ruler, the Widow's Mite, the Cup of Cold Water, and the Parable of the Talents, we discover that God is not primarily concerned with what He has given us, but with what we do with what He has entrusted to us.

God is not against blessing His people. The issue is not possessions—it is priorities. The question is whether we are using temporary things for eternal purposes.

One day every believer will stand before Christ and give an account of how they used the gifts, opportunities, resources, and influence God placed in their hands. The challenge is simple:

When your life passes through the fire of eternity, will it survive?

Key Scripture

1 Corinthians 3:11-15

Main Thought

God is not asking what He gave me. God is asking what I did with what He gave me.

Key Lessons

• The foundation must be Jesus Christ.

• Every believer is building something with their life.

• God is not against blessing; He is against anything taking His place.

• The Rich Young Ruler's problem was not money—it was lordship.

• The Judgment Seat of Christ is about rewards, not salvation.

• Heaven notices faithfulness even when people do not.

• God rewards stewardship, not comparison.

• Temporary things can be used for eternal purposes.

• One day every believer will give an account.

• What is done for Christ will last forever.

Questions for Reflection

  1. What am I building with my life right now?

  2. Am I using God's blessings for His purposes?

  3. Is there anything competing with God for first place in my heart?

  4. What am I pouring my time, energy, and resources into?

  5. If my life were examined today, what would survive the fire?

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for every blessing, opportunity, gift, and resource You have placed in our hands. Help us to be faithful stewards of all You have entrusted to us. Guard our hearts from placing anything above You. Teach us to use temporary things for eternal purposes and to invest our lives in what truly matters. May our lives bring You glory, impact others for Your Kingdom, and leave a legacy that survives the fire. Help us to live in such a way that one day we will hear the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." In Jesus' name, Amen.

Praise in the Pressure

Key Scripture: Acts 16:25 (KJV)
"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them."

Message Summary:
Anyone can praise when the answer comes quickly. Real praise is revealed in pressure, uncertainty, and difficult seasons. This message explores how praise becomes a weapon, shifts atmosphere, strengthens faith, and reminds us that God is still working—even before circumstances change.

Main Points:

✓ Pressure reveals what is within us

Trials often expose fear, frustration, or faith. What comes out under pressure shows what has been built inside.

Scripture: Luke 6:45

✓ Praise is a response, not just a feeling

Paul and Silas praised before prison doors opened. Praise is an act of faith before circumstances improve.

Scripture: Acts 16:25–26

✓ Praise changes atmosphere

Praise may not immediately change circumstances, but it changes hearts, perspective, and spiritual atmosphere.

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20

✓ Your praise affects others

The prisoners heard Paul and Silas praising. Faithfulness in pressure becomes a testimony to people watching.

Reflection Questions:

  • What pressure am I facing right now?

  • Has pressure drawn me toward praise or discouragement?

  • What would it look like to worship before breakthrough comes?

Prayer:

Lord, teach me to praise You not only in victories, but in seasons of pressure. Help my faith remain strong when answers seem delayed, and let my worship become a testimony to others.
